The 22nd Indian Model United Nations Conference took place at the Scope Complex in Delhi from the 2nd to the 4th of September 2024. The first two days featured engaging debates across 10 committees with over 1,500 participants from Ryan Schools in India. The third day was Ryan Leadership Summit, where six accomplished speakers from various fields inspired the students. Ms. Kiran Bedi emphasized the importance of leadership at the grassroots level and the role of teaching in self-learning. She also highlighted the need to break gender norms and societal expectations to create an equal society. The Latvian Ambassador to India, Mr. Juris Bone, provided an insightful introduction to his country and showcased a video of the National Dance Festival. Mr. Neel Ghosh, the founder of the Robinhood Army, detailed the organization's workings, including its broad reach across multiple countries with no formal office or employees, and explained how to join. Anil Swarup discussed the subjectivity of happiness and advised against dwelling on the past. Dr Shamika Ravi delved into the flaws of UN negotiations and compared the growth of South Korea, China, and India. She further emphasized on the need to focus on data and not opinions while we try to analyse a particular topic. Lastly, Ms. Bansuri Swaraj, an Indian lawyer and politician, emphasized the importance of youth awareness of laws and the need for simplicity, stability, and certainty in the legal system. Three Students from Amanora School represented the Central African Republic across the three committees. Ananya Saxena from Grade 11 C participated in the International Law Commission and displayed diplomatic courtesy and high research capabilities. Abhiram Surritshetti from Grade 10 I, who was a part of the ECOSOC committee, received the High Commendation, while Niharika Baburaj from Grade 12 D, who participated in the Intergovernmental Negotiation Framework, received the Special Mention 1.
