International Olympic Day, celebrated at a global level, is observed annually on June 23rd.The first International Olympic Day was celebrated on June 23rd, 1948. This date commemorates the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on this date in 1894. This day was established by Pierre de Coubertin, who is recognised as the driving force behind the revival of the modern Olympic Games. The IOC was founded with the mission to promote the Olympic ideals of sportsmanship, fair play, and international understanding through the revival of the ancient Olympic Games. The celebration of International Olympic Day honours his vision and the values he championed. Grade 10D conducted the assembly on the topic International Olympic Day. Assembly started with the school prayer followed by WOD, thought for the day and News to keep everyone updated. The students performed some glimpses of Olympic 2020 through a Dance Drama to give a tribute to winners. This assembly would help them to inculcate the values of excellence, building relationships and respect.
