“Nonviolence is a weapon of the strong.” On October 1st, our school celebrated the International Day for Non-Violence, honoring the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, who championed peace and non-violent resistance during India's struggle for independence. This day reminds us of the power of peaceful protest in effecting change. The students of grade X E presented an assembly in observance of International Non Violence Day which is celebrated on the 2nd of October on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti each year. This day serves as a tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Non-violence is the practice of achieving goals through peaceful means, rejecting the use of physical force. It is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves respect and dignity, and that true change can be achieved without causing harm to others. Following the pledge and news updates, the students presented an engaging skit that effectively Portrayed influential leaders who fought for humanity through non-violence also recognized Martin Luther King Jr. led the American civil rights movement, advocating for equality through peaceful demonstrations. Rosa Parks' courageous refusal to give up her bus seat sparked significant protests against racial segregation. The assembly ended up with a message from the teacher, who underlined the importance of Non-violence and stated the importance of fighting with the inner devils peacefully and with great strength. As we reflect on the significance of the International Day for Non-Violence, let us commit ourselves to practicing non-violence in our daily lives.
