National Sports Day is celebrated every year on August 29, to commemorate the birthday of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. The assembly of Grade 9B commenced with the school prayer, word and thought for the day, followed by news updates. It also featured an engaging skit that vividly depicted Major Dhyan Chand's journey and his remarkable achievement of winning three consecutive Olympic hockey gold medals. This creative presentation educated students about the life and achievements of the legendary hockey player.
The class teacher of 9B then shared fascinating facts about Major Dhyan Chand's life and achievements, encouraging students to develop a passion for sports and participate in their chosen activities. She emphasised the importance of sports in building essential life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, inspiring students to adopt these values in their own lives.
