Grade III, IV and V - Pi Approximation Day On July 22, we observed Pi Approximation Day, also known as Casual Pi Day, in honour of the mathematical constant π. This day, represented by the fraction 22/7, is a significant approximation of Pi and provides an excellent opportunity to explore its importance in mathematics. To highlight the significance of Pi and educate students in grades 3-5 about its importance, videos and presentations were shared, showcasing its uses and known values. The students were introduced to Pi's role in geometry, particularly in calculating the circumference and area of circles, making the abstract concept more tangible and understandable. The celebration included engaging learning activities, where students participated in a fun and memorable exercise of taking selfies with "PIE." This interactive approach not only celebrated Pi but also made learning about this fundamental mathematical concept enjoyable and memorable for the young learners. By combining multimedia resources and hands-on activities, the students were able to grasp the significance of Pi in a way that was both educational and entertaining. ""
