Grade III and IV _Junior Scientist Club Highlights The Junior Scientist Club for Grade III and IV embarked on an exciting journey, beginning with an introduction to various scientific tools and instruments. They performed a density test with an orange. Initially, they weighed the orange with its peel intact, finding it heavier. They then placed the orange in water, where it floated. Upon removing the peel and placing it in the water again, the orange sank. This observation led them to realize that the peel contained air pockets, which provided buoyancy and allowed the orange to float. This experiment helped them understand the concept of density, demonstrating how objects with lower density than water (like the orange with its peel) float, while those with higher density (like the peeled orange) sink. The activity provided hands-on learning, reinforcing students' understanding of scientific principles in an engaging and memorable way. ""
