The Pythagoras Theorem is arguably the most famous statement in mathematics. It is a cornerstone of math that helps us find the missing side length of a right triangle. Math Lab activity was conducted for the students of Grade VII during the Math period where they verified Pythagoras theorem. Students drew a right-angled triangle with given measurements. They then extended the sides to a perfect square on each side of the triangle. The areas of the squares calculated verified the Pythagoras theorem that the sum of the squares of the two adjacent sides is equal to the square of the hypotenuse. The students were in awe of the method used to verify the theorem and worked up the activity in the stipulated time frame with great zeal.
